Audition Coaching / On-Camera Acting Studio

It takes 10,000 hours to master a skill. Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or just getting into the auditioning game, having someone you trust to help guide that process is an essential part of presenting your best work and booking the role.

My approach to auditioning is very much like training to become a Jedi. As cheesy as it sounds, it’s about harnessing “your force.” Everyone’s path is different. There’s no secret formula.

No great artist in history became great by doing what they thought other people wanted them to.

Why The Studio?

My auditioning journey began years ago with a small practice group that I led with a group of peers for about 5 years. Every week, the group would meet to practice and hone our auditioning technique.  This led to many of us booking TV & Film roles.  All of a sudden I was on set. Something started to click.  And my quest to figure this stuff out started on a deeper level.

Auditioning and especially on-camera auditioning can be some of the most challenging acting because you are given nothing and asked to recreate everything in a limited amount of time with only a set of sides and a ticking clock. This requires technique, script analysis, knowing what world you’re in, prepping fast, asking the right questions, producing and taping skills, and the ability to draw from your toolbox as a human being.

But what if it were also more like this:

Youre a kid in a sandbox.

Sometimes you play by yourself.

Sometimes you play with the other kids in the sandbox.

Sometimes the toys and games are given to you.

The story serves as a blueprint.

The rest is yours to explore in the world of the sandbox.

And the way you play the game is always yours to choose.

Be the kid in the sandbox, discovering the story as you go.
